Administrative Assistant
Giving Hope (GHF) is a non-profit organisation that is helping smallholder farmers in Hoima to grow their way out of extreme poverty. We do this by promoting sustainable agriculture, climate change mitigation and promoting the well-being of smallholder communities.
We are located in Kitoba sub-county, Hoima District – this will also be your main station.
Job Description:
As an Administrative Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the successful implementation of our organization’s strategic plan. You will actively participate in project implementation, monitoring, and reporting, working closely with GHF’s staff, partners, and stakeholders, focusing on our project beneficiaries. This is a six-month position with the possibility of full-time employment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend to stakeholders, beneficiaries, partners, visitors, funders, among others.
- Support Village Savings and Loans Associations and manage our agricultural shop daily.
- Prepare regular reports, organize and maintain records, and manage project activities.
- Travel off-site for ad hoc activities as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in project management and administration, preferably in a non-profit organisation or community development setting.
- You MUST possess knowledge of the local area and language
- Strong communication, good interpersonal skills and computer literacy
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including beneficiaries and partners.
- Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
- You MUST be able to ride a motorcycle.

Giving Hope Foundation (GHF) is a development organization that works to build socioeconomic, environmental and emotional well-being for unprivileged communities, with a focus on Hoima District. We are seeking a qualified, self-driven and community-focused individual to fill the position of Administrator.
The ideal candidate will exhibit high standards, excellent communication skills, and an ability to take initiative, and prioritize daily tasks. A solid ability to take charge and meet tight deadlines will ensure your success in this multi-faceted role.
Preference will be current residents of Hoima, that possess an in-depth understanding of local traditions, and challenges faced by rural farmers in Hoima district.
Responsibilities
- Handle and coordinate active calendars
- Work closely with rural community groups
- Prepare and file reports based on office protocol
- Manage a community-based agricultural store
- Provide ad hoc support to rural farming groups
Qualifications
- A relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Strong interpersonal, customer service and communication skills
- Experience using different social media platforms and Ms Office Suite
- Ability to multitask, respect for individuals
- Ability to use digital media is an added advantage

Social Media Volunteer (Volunteer position)
Giving Hope Foundation seeks a volunteer for 8-16 hours monthly who wants to make a positive impact in East Africa through the realm of Marketing and Communication.
About Giving Hope Foundation (GHF):
GHF is a non-profit NGO dedicated to uplifting smallholder farmers in Uganda, enabling them to break free from extreme poverty, improve their health, and contribute to environmental sustainability. Our holistic approach involves providing agricultural inputs, financing, health activism, and fostering climate change adoption.
Communications/Marketing Team:
As a Social Media Manager, you’ll be part of our volunteer team in Denmark,collaborating with our team in Uganda, and actively contributing to captivating content creation across various platforms.
You will help manage our social media accounts, as well as help create our monthly newsletter to amplify our message, increase awareness, and engage our community.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Desires to support social innovation and sustainability.
- Can commit to a minimum of 3 months.
- Can create and manage their own schedule.
As our Social Media Manager, your responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Driving a multi-channel communications strategy.
- Growing GHF’s social media reach organically.
- Implementing and managing social media strategy.
- Monitoring SEO, customer engagement, and suggesting content optimization.
- Employing strategies with paid ads and marketing tools.
- Creating informative, interesting, and fun content.

Whether you can spare 1-2 hours a week or 3-4 hours, your commitment will make a significant impact. While we already have a dedicated team member working on funding applications, we need more volunteers like you who are willing to invest their free time in discovering and applying to new funds.
