Helping local climate initiatives grow
GHF supports locally led climate and youth initiatives through project development, partnerships, funding pathways, communication and knowledge exchange.
Our role is to help local experience and ideas connect with the people, organisations and opportunities that can support their further development.
Knowledge exchange
We create connections between practical local knowledge, research and international experience.
GHF does not position itself as the technical expert. Our role is to help knowledge move between local practitioners, researchers, organisations and other partners so that different forms of experience and expertise can inform each other.
Partnerships and funding pathways
We connect locally led organisations with relevant universities, civil society organisations, funders and international project partners.
We also help identify funding opportunities and develop the partnerships needed to take part in larger national and international projects.
Project development
We work with partners to turn local priorities, practical experience and new ideas into clear project concepts. This can include developing objectives, activities, partnerships and project structures that are suitable for funding and international collaboration.
Communication and visibility
We help local initiatives communicate what they do, what they are learning and why their work matters.
This includes communicating local experience to project partners, funders, researchers and wider audiences, as well as supporting dissemination within international projects.
Work with us
We are interested in partnerships around sustainable agriculture, climate action, youth engagement, women’s empowerment and community resilience in East Africa.
