Giving Hope Foundation (GHF) is a Denmark-based non-profit organisation working to connect locally led climate initiatives in East Africa with research, funding and international collaboration. GHF works closely with Soil Health and Climate Action Network (SHCAN) in Uganda. SHCAN leads local implementation with communities, while GHF supports the structures around this work through project development, partnerships, fundraising, communication and dissemination.
Our focus areas are: Climate Action, Sustainable agriculture, and fostering Livelihoods of Youth & Women. We are especially interested in partnerships that connect practical field knowledge with universities, NGOs, funders and international project ecosystems. GHF contributes to projects by helping design partnerships, communicate impact, support funding pathways and translate local experience into learning, dissemination and policy-relevant outputs.
We do not duplicate local implementation; we help make locally led work more visible, fundable and connected. We are currently involved in Green Bridges 2026-2029, an Erasmus+ project connecting youth across Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa through virtual exchanges focused on climate action, sustainability, social innovation and intercultural dialogue.
GHF’s long-term ambition is to help build sustainable partnerships that strengthen local climate action, support youth and rural communities, and create pathways for knowledge exchange between East Africa, Denmark and Europe.
