Why a Butterfly
Our logo – a Butterfly is an expression of who we are, what we do and what inspires us.
A butterfly undergoes different stages of transformation until it becomes an “adult” and ready to fly. The four colors in the wings perfectly symbolizes how we work with unprivileged communities in order to achieve sustainable development. They represent our commitment to working closely with rural populations, to help them improve their own lives through their daily productive activities and actions.
Each of the five colors in our logo represents a specific category of people-program, all aimed at community sustainability.
A butterfly represents simplicity!
The wings are intersected, as a representation that great things can happen if people from different backgrounds unite and work together on common cause.
The Colors
Orange: represents Clean Energy. This is our commitment to help unprivileged communities access innovative, affordable and durable energy solutions that not only reduce exposure to greenhouse gas emissions in their households, but also save time, and money, and therefore create a positive impact on our environment.
Green: represents Agriculture which employs more than 98% of the people in the communities where we operate.
This is our commitment to work with rural farmers by changing their mindsets, and improving their operations from subsistence to agribusiness/ value addition-based farming. It is also a reminder of our responsibility to appreciate, respect and care for our natural environment.
Pink: represents Health and Well-being as a symbol of empowerment, self-esteem and thriving.
A butterfly has a short life – this teaches us to live with love and enjoy every moment and to live without regrets. This is also our commitment to helping people living in unprivileged communities to improve their everyday health, emotional and mental well-being.
Blue: represents Sustainable Communities – also a reminder of our vision.
We are absolutely committed to playing our role as a catalysts for change, aiming to enhance the livelihoods of unprivileged people in order to achieve sustained social-economic community development.
Black: represents people; people are the center of our programs and services.
A butterfly also has the tentacles which is a symbol of our values including communication, openness and transparency.
